Executive summary
Saipem chose to adopt Microsoft 365 Copilot with the goal of increasing the effectiveness and quality of work through generative Artificial Intelligence.
The project was developed as a cultural transformation journey, starting with an initial pilot and eventually involving the entire corporate population globally.
With input from the working group, the initiative focused on defining specific use cases for each department, creating hands-on training sessions, and actively listening to users to facilitate adoption.
The step-by-step, hands-on approach has made Copilot an accessible, familiar and truly useful tool in everyday life.
Our approach
We supported Saipem in the early adoption phase of Copilot, organizing targeted classroom training sessions and co-design workshops for an initial group of 150 early adopters.
These activities brought out real-life use cases, providing a concrete basis for fostering informed and operational adoption of Copilot.
This contributed to the creation of a shared identity for the project and supported the training activities with practical and continuous moments of discussion, promoting constant interaction between users and technology.

The results
The project has fostered a tangible transformation in the way people work, demonstrating how generative AI can improve each person's productivity and work experience.
- 15,000 employees globally involved
"...in the co-design sessions it was possible to identify specific vertical use cases related to the activities of each Saipem department. These use cases were then employed during practical training sessions aimed at the entire company population."Valerio Casanova
